EXCELLENT Based on 63 reviews Posted on Sara Rossi Raccagni I decided to train with YCI because it was the only one with a solid scientific basis, which I believe is crucial from an ethical perspective. I completed both the Youth Resilience Coach and Youth Health Coach programs. It was the best investment I could have made: the instructors are highly trained and do know how to create the ideal environment for continuous growth.Posted on Fabio Friscia I highly recommend the services of YCI to anyone interested in improving their skills to coach young people. Between the material and the classes, their offer is absolutely stellar! I am giving just 5 stars because giving a hundred is not possible!Posted on Shahnaz Bonadurer I am very glad that I had the chance to take the Youth Well-being course at the Youth Coaching Institute. Being part of this community, meeting like-minded people, engaging in peer coaching experiences, and having access to many great resources, tools, videos, and meaningful conversations made a real difference in my coaching journey.Posted on Leslie C. Newbold Dr. Leah Mazzoula’s course at the Youth Coaching Institute is truly exceptional. It’s clear how much care and expertise went into creating a program that’s science-based, evidence-backed, and incredibly supportive. I highly recommend it to anyone working with teens, parents, or anyone looking to grow as a coach and human being.Posted on Heather Mooney Incredibly grateful that I was strongly recommended to attend this program by another YCI alum (the amazing Cyndy Etler "the teen life coach"). After completing my coaching certificate I *totally* get why Cyndy insisted I attend YCI when I shared the intentions of becoming a coach! It's been instrumentally helpful in a multitude of ways and much more of a mindset shift than anticipated. All of the instruction, coaching practice and mentoring has been integral to my success as a coach. Appreciate the ongoing positive regard, growth mindset, and perpetual support for our continued coaching development as we navigate the various pathways for our careers.Posted on Robert McClellan I entered this program hopeful, but unsure of what to expect. It exceeded my expectations in so many ways. The training was thorough, supportive, and engaging. I feel equipped and eager to continue this important work! Highly recommend.Posted on Claire Gatonby I work extensively with the youth and found the YCI Youth Coaching course very insightful and valuable. The combination of theory and practical with tips on how to use this in meaningful interactions was highly beneficial. I would recommend this course.Posted on Kody Hersh I appreciated YCI's model of independent self-study combined with live classes for coaching practice and discussion. The content of the self-study materials has been really helpful for me as a youth professional in refreshing my knowledge of adolescent development, and learning how to use that knowledge to provide effective support as a coach. Program leaders are gifted and knowledgeable, and admin staff provided prompt and skilled support.Posted on Huaru Kang Participating in the YCI courses and becoming a certified Youth Well-being Coach through the YCI training has been truly an inspiring and rewarding journey. The program has not only deepened my understanding of youth development through self-study courses but also equipped me with practical coaching skills through online live sessions. I particularly appreciate its research-based and evidence-driven approach, which makes the course content both convincing and impactful. This clearly reflects Dr. Leah’s hard work and dedication. I am also very grateful for the support of our online meeting facilitator, Bonnie. How can I integrate Power Skills courses into my coaching practice?
Power Skills courses are designed to seamlessly integrate into your coaching programs as foundational content that you build upon with your coaching expertise. Each course is structured in micro-lessons that can be paired with coaching sessions to help young people apply the concepts to their unique goals and circumstances.
Click here to view a Coaching Program breakdown that you can tailor to your coaching business and audience. Click here to view a marketing flyer that you can share with prospective clients.
The Model:
- Week 1–8: Client completes one to two micro-lessons per week
- Weekly coaching session: You facilitate application through 1:1 coaching and/or group workshops
- Your role: Guide reflection, skill-building practice, and personalized goal application
This structure addresses a common challenge: you’re the expert in the coaching process, not necessarily in adolescent psychology, neuroscience, or every specialized content area. Now you can leverage evidence-based content while focusing your energy where it matters most, the youth-facing interactions.
Can I customize the program length or structure?
Yes! The courses are self-paced, so you can decide how to integrate lessons into your coaching program.
Pace Adjustment Examples:
- Accelerated (4–8 weeks): Combine modules or have clients complete 2 or more micro-lessons per week
- You get more pacing flexibility by purchasing a group license. (See that option below)
Format Variations:
- Weekly 1:1 sessions throughout
- Bi-weekly group workshops with optional 1:1 add-ons
- Monthly intensive group sessions with individual check-ins between
- Self-paced course access with on-demand coaching support
Multi-Course Programs: Create comprehensive 6-month or year-long programs by sequencing multiple Power Skills courses:
- Semester 1: Mental Fitness + Academic Resilience
- Semester 2: Workforce Readiness + Strong Relationships (Coming Soon)
Your Brand, Your Structure: You design the coaching program that fits your practice model. Power Skills provides the content foundation you build upon.
How does pricing work? Can I mark up the courses?
Yes — and there are several models to choose from depending on how your practice is structured.
Option 1: Per-Client Enrollment (No License Required)
Purchase course access for your client and bundle it into your coaching package price. You sign them up directly through YCI.
Example: “$1,200 for an 8-week coaching program including Power Skills course access and weekly 1:1 sessions.”
Option 2: Course + Coaching Separate
Your client purchases the course directly from YCI for $150. You charge separately for your coaching sessions.
Example: “$150 for Power Skills course + $125/session for coaching.”
Option 3: Group Program Model
Purchase course access for a cohort and charge a per-person group program fee.
Example: “8-week group coaching program: $497 includes course access and weekly group sessions.”
What is the YCI Coach License, and is it right for me?
If you’re a certified YCI coach who regularly integrates Power Skills into your programs, an annual license may be significantly more cost-effective than purchasing per-client access — and gives you more flexibility in how you deliver and price your programs.
There are two license types:
Hosted License — on YCI’s platform Your clients access the course through YCI’s TalentLMS platform, fully managed on our end. No LMS setup, no technical overhead. Choose from three seat tiers based on how many clients you serve annually:
- Starter — $697/year for up to 5 student seats
- Growth — $1,197/year for up to 15 student seats
- Practice — $1,997/year for up to 35 student seats
This option is best for coaches with under 25 clients per year who don’t already run their own learning management system. A coach with 15 students annually actually saves over $200 per year compared to setting up and maintaining their own LMS — with none of the setup work.
SCORM Download License — on your own platform If you already run your own LMS (TalentLMS, Canvas, LearnDash, or similar), you can download the Power Skills SCORM package and host it directly on your platform for an unlimited number of students.
- SCORM License — $597/year, unlimited students
This option is best for coaches with 25+ students per year or those who want full control over their platform and client experience.
All licenses require YCI coach certification and renew annually. Need more seats mid-year? Additional students beyond your hosted tier are billed at $150 per student — no hard cutoffs, your program keeps running.
To explore or request an invoice for licensing, contact leah@youthcoachinginstitute.com. If you’ve already decided on a licensing tier, just include that information in your email.
Value-Add Strategy
Clients see the comprehensive nature of your program — combining well-being science, skills training, and personalized coaching — and you differentiate from coaches who offer conversation-based sessions alone. Whether you’re enrolling one client at a time or running a year-round group practice, there’s a Power Skills model built for where you are right now.
