Raising thriving youth takes a village. Learn skills to stand in the gap for those in your community.
Mental health crisis
Gen Z and Gen Alpha are struggling. Adolescent anxiety, depression, and suicide rates are currently at unprecedented highs in the U.S. Gen Z reports the lowest levels of emotional and social well-being and highest levels of distress.
Overwhelm is real
Many tweens, teens, and emerging adults are experiencing school burnout, feeling lost, unmotivated, disconnected, ineffective, anxious, and uncertain of where to even begin to feel better. Teachers, therapists, and parents are doing all they can, but they’re overstretched.
Coaches can help!
Studies show evidence-based life coaching interventions enhance coping skills, resilience, self-awareness, confidence, self-management, stress management, goal setting, striving, and attainment; engagement, well-being, and hope.
Become a youth life coach!
You experienced your share of struggles as an adolescent. You managed to overcome, learn to thrive, and establish a life you’re proud of. Now, it’s time to reach back and support the next generation of young people to do the same.
Our goal is to help fill a support gap for struggling young people, one coach at a time. Our vision is that every tween, teen, and emerging adult may have access to a qualified life coach when they need one.
We've had the pleasure of training youth serving staff for:
I took part in the YCI Certified Youth Resilience Coach program and I can’t recommend it enough. I was looking for a path to build on my skills as an educator and further my career in way that aligns with my values. While I was unsure of what exactly to expect as I underwent this 25 week course, I can honestly say it exceeded all of my expectations. I was able to develop a strong understanding of what it takes to be a great coach and learn more about adolescent psychology. The class was very manageable and Dr. Leah’s approach was informative, honest, and supportive. I feel like I have grown tremendously in a relatively short amount of time and I am excited to start my journey as a certified youth life coach.
I recently completed my training with YCI as a Youth Resilience Coach. It has been an incredible experience. The quality of the teaching and accompanying support materials are excellent. The registration process and administration are straightforward and hassle-free. It has been fantastic to be part of an amazing cohort of people – an eclectic mix of backgrounds and cultures, all connecting through our shared desire to improve the lives of our young people. The magic comes, however, in the leadership and passion bestowed by Dr Leah. Her resounding commitment to her own learning journey of personal growth, coupled with her ceaseless determination to act, always, in service to her students and clients is quite remarkable. It has been a privilege and an honour to be in the presence of this alchemy – if only for a few weeks. If you can scrape the funds together; if you want to grow as a human being; and believe you can be of service to others in a positive way then sign up for this programme. You will not regret it.
I really enjoyed this coaching class taught by Dr. Leah. Not only did I learn how to help clients but I learned a lot about myself. Dr. Leah opens up about her own life experience which helped me feel comfortable and safe. Her coaching technique is perfection. Very informative and highly recommended!
Dr. Leah and YCI are incredible! I just completed my certification and could not be happier. Dr. Leah is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her work. From class one it was a very safe space to learn and grow. I highly recommend YCI and am extremely grateful for the experience!
Such an amazing experience! Instructors were extremely knowledgeable and supportive. I look forward to continuing education!
Youth Coaching Institute is awesome! I spent a great deal of time researching Life Coach Training programs and YCI came out on top in every comparative category. The training I received was useful and relevant and I feel very well prepared to begin delivering coaching services. The art of coaching is based upon a wide palette of soft skills which the YCI instructors demonstrated for us and then gave us opportunities to observe and practice. But they didn’t just tell us what to do to, they explained the neurological and psychological foundations that support the YCI model of coaching. We learned both the art and science of coaching. My career as a middle/high school teacher, mentor, athletic coach and outdoor instructor has been focused on supporting teens in being the best possible version of themselves. The Youth Resilience Coach certification I received at YCI will be the perfect next step in my youth-serving career!
I would definitely recommend YCI!!!
The Youth Coaching Institute was exactly what I needed to become a coach working with youth. They are professional, very knowledgeable -evidence based research and very affordable! I have never set on a Zoom meeting with 21 students across the globe, faithfully every Saturday. It was a college class. Money well spent! Thank you Dr. Leah and staff!
