Is the training in-person or online?
The training is all virtual via webinar and conference call.
How will this training help me if I do not work with at-risk youth?
Coaching is a universally applicable solution-focused, strength-based skill set relevant for anyone with responsibilities that include enhancing goal striving, effective performance, and resilience.
The CCE defines coaching as, “a career in which professionals have specialized education, training, and experience to assess needs of clients, collaborate with clients on solutions, and offer strategies that assist individuals and organizations in reaching identified goals.”
The ICF defines coaching as, “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
Is the program flexible?
Our flexibility is found in our distance-learning approach. Trainees can attend from the comfort of their own homes. Our classes are also scheduled during evenings and weekends for working adults.
What is the price?
The tuition varies depending on the trainees’ interests. Trainees earn our credential upon completion (Certified Youth Mentor Coach or Certified Youth Leadership Coach). If the trainee is interested in pursuing higher coaching credentials beyond ours through the governing bodies (ICF or CCE), they would choose a training path based on that interest. This can go one of three ways.
- The trainee is only interested in achieving our credential. Our credential qualifies trainees to coach professionally. It’s a foundational coach training program designed for trainees who have no prior formal training in the coaching approach. They would train via the basic path which is $1,500 total tuition plus books (book fees are around $100).
- If the trainee is interested in pursuing a Board Certified Coach credential through the Center for Credentialing and Education following our training, they can use our basic training path toward 30 of the required coach specific training hours for CCE.
- If the trainee is interested in pursuing an Associate Certified Coach credential through the International Coach Federation, our training counts for 63 approved coach specific training hours for that path. The ICF also requires 10 hours of mentoring with an ICF certified coach. The trainee would take the ICF ACC path. The tuition for that path is $2,000 with the extra mentoring.
Payment plans are available for both paths with monthly payments ranging from $156-$175.
We also have need-based partial scholarships available for trainees who are a great fit for the program, but need tuition assistance.
